If you are into sports, you know how much of a struggle it is to eat just before practicing your favorite sport.
I know it.
Swimming, mountain biking, lifting… just after after isn’t super fun.
You feel bad, dizzy and ultimately sick as your body isn’t ready to experience some hardcore performances.
Sometimes you just need to stop your activity because you are feeling too bad to continue.
Fortunately? There is a way to speed up the rate at which you digest!
How to digest faster?
By drinking/eating something with an acidic pH.
You may not have heard of this before.
Your food can be classified by its pH.
The pH or potential hydrogen is a number ranging from 1, super acid to 14, basic. With 7 being neutral.
Pure water is neutral.
Your stomachs rely on acids to digest the food you eat.
Do you see the point?
By eating/drinking acidic food you’ll be able to digest faster as the acid will helps you digesting.
It means that to digest faster you’ll need to eat/drink acidic food/drink.
Because it’s easier to identify an acid drink than an acid food, we will go down this way.
The following drinks will make sure that you’ll digest as fast possible.
Note: That’s nothing scientific or anything. No research. Nothing except my experience. That’s bro science.
Normally I take around 3 hours to digest completely and feel good about it, ready to ride.
When I drink one of these drinks, I can digest within 1 hour. It is super fast and super useful for anyone who cannot suffer down time while digesting.

Bonus tip: Do not drink cold water/fizzy drink with a meal. It reduces the production of stomachs acid and so slows down digestion.
Super drink to digest faster
I’m excluding food because I tried it and it doesn’t seem to work for me, if you are interested search for the pH of the food and see how fast you digest.
Remember, we only want low pH – acid – food.
That’s my favorite.
You simply take a lemon, extract its juice and make a cocktail of water and lemon juice.
The very best is to take a bio lemon as they have a superior quality.
Simply press it like an orange to extract the precious fluid and throw it into a glass of water.
It feels good to drink such a beverage when it’s sunny and hot outside.
It’s refreshing, doesn’t take you much time to prepare and delicious if you enjoy the taste of lemon!
Lemon juice has a pH between 2 and 3.
You must know it.
Coffee got a reputation to help you digest.
While most of mainstream and common advice are wrong, this one is completely true.
Simply drink a cup of coffee after your meal and you’ll digest faster.
There is no simpler hack.
Also, coffee is simple to make and practically anyone owns a coffee machine so you can drink it anywhere.
If you don’t have anything to prepare coffee or you are on a ride in high mountain, then you should take a thermos with you to transport heaven’s beverage.
Coffee has a pH between 3 and 4.5
It may seem weird at first thought.
But you must know that ginger tea is common in Asian countries.
You can easily find it in many restaurants, and you can make it at home.
Ginger is a root, it costs practically nothing to buy.
To craft your own ginger tea, you don’t need anything more than some roots of ginger.
Cut some pieces of ginger and pour them into a cup of hot water.
Wait for as long as you want.
Your ginger tea is ready!
Bonus tip: To make ginger infuses faster and keep the water hot, simply cover the cup of tea.
Ginger has a pH between 5.4 and 6
Alcohol has also built a reputation on helping you to digest faster.
That’s why some restaurants offer you to drink a “digestif” in order to digest faster.
This trick is definitely working.
Unfortunately, you may not want to get drunk just to digest faster.
So the other beverages are superior to this one in my opinion.
It depends on what you want and what you enjoy drinking after all!

If you need to digest super fast, add a bit more acidic beverages!
These strategies work perfectly for all your meals, specifically heavy meals which takes up to 3-5 hours to digest.
Those are super annoying and can block in your bed for an entire afternoon.
